First I sincerly believe that you can take all the guns , knives , rope , it doesnt matter. Untill you truly change mens hearts ( & I sincerly believe we can not, but God can ) we will always hurt one another & men will continue to kill for divers reasions. Second, yes we were founded on freedom & that freedom includes all religions who have the Constitutional right to be heard as individuals & as groups. Our constitution is based on Judeo / christian values & indeed those values , combined with our Constitutionaly protected freedoms , are the backbone of this great nation. Men's hearts aren't changing. We MUST change the laws. We MUST protect ourselves through a STRONG central government that will take the guns and control them.
Taking guns away won't help anyone but criminals. Criminals will still have guns, illegally and your plan will strip law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves from Criminals and the Government alike.. You ever heard of a thing called the Constitution?

First off, I'm an atheist. I believe that people should be able to have guns. Also, you sound like you are screaming for someone to rule other people's lives, but when you do that, you really just give a select few power to rule over you too. You sound really scary and hateful/supicious of other people.

I think it's hilarious. I too am a "non-believer" and a conservative.. Wonder how the Christian right will deal with this trend..
Blame Thomas Paine and the forefathers(who were actually agnostic deists, for the record)..
I am curious about what drives your to be a Conservative. Our Founders where not the agnostic deists as has been a misconception. What about "Laws of Nature and Nature's God", which is mentioned in the beginning of the Declaration of Independence. There is also the mention of "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuite of Happiness.
I think it was pretty clear that they believed in God. You are free to believe in God or not, as I'm not judging you. You obviously agree with the ideals of our Founders and the Conservative ideals and principles they espoused. I stand beside you in the fight against tyranny and run-away governement. We are soldiers on the same side.
Can I please ask what is so wrong with Europe? Why are you people so scared? Europe is an incredibly progressive continent with a lower murder rate, a lower teen pregnancy rate, higher average income than the US, lower taxes than the US, a significantly higher proportion of people with (free) University degrees, a lower divorce rate, free health care, lower unemployment and a healthier economy.
Please, vote McCain in so we can still come over there and take advantage of your incredibly weak dollar. Maybe next year, one Euro might be worth three dollars and I can buy what you want but can't afford. The weak dollar also means that fewer of you rednecks can't afford to come over here, so please, vote McCain.
America used to be a great country. No longer. It's a laughing stock. Politics is predicated on appealing to the rednecks and that is truly, truly worrying. The US is a failing empire and I'd love to see how a pensioner and a hockey mom can turn that around.
The two great superpowers now are China and Europe. America is losing it's significance and it's all down to how the stupid people vote.
